Teens and Video Games Today Nothing is more venting than – I shoot, I kick, I shoot shot, I kick kick – Yes, all day long. Pew Research Center data shows that teens agree with me. 89% of teens play video games with others. Teens seem to think that if they don't play video games, they’re out of place. Because so many people are playing, it's a good way to socialize with friends. If everybody is smoking in the room, I might as well join them and puff like chimneys. The alternative would be lonely, anxious, angry, and to be stared at. Outsider? No. I’m in – Shooting, shooting, kicking, kicking. Ironically, it’s not surprising how many games put a gun in the player’s hand, so that teens seem to think it’s a good way to vent stress. Data shows that the higher the household income is, the lower the percentage of teens who play video games daily.
